Read this leaflet carefully before you start taking this medicine because it contains important information for you.

• This medicine has only been prescribed for you. Do not pass it on to others, even if the symptoms of the disease are the same as yours, as this can be dangerous.

1. What Lamisil is and what it is used for

   Lamisil contains the active substance terbinafine, which belongs to a group of medicines called "antifungals". Lamisil is used to treat fungal infections and destroys a large number of fungi.

   Lamisil is therefore used to treat:

   • Nail infections caused by fungi called "dermatophytes"
   • Tinea capitis, a scalp infection caused by fungi
   • Skin infections caused by fungi called "dermatophytes" (tinea corporis, tinea cruris, tinea pedis) and yeasts such as candida (candida albicans), for which the doctor has considered oral therapy appropriate.

     In contrast to the Lamisil cream, Lamisil tablets are not effective in the treatment of pityriasis versicolor, a superficial skin infection that is also known as "tinea versicolor".

2. What you need to know before you take Lamisil Do not take Lamisil
   • if you are allergic to terbinafine or any of the other ingredients in this medicine (listed in

     Paragraph 6)

   • if you are pregnant or breastfeeding (see section "Pregnancy and breastfeeding")
   • if the patient is a child under 2 years of age
   • if you have liver problems (active or chronic liver disease).

     Warnings and precautions

     Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Lamisil. Tell your doctor before taking Lamisil:

   • if you have a skin condition called psoriasis or lupus erythematosus (autoimmune disease), as these conditions may get worse during treatment with Lamisil
   • if you have kidney problems.

     If you are older, your doctor will look for liver or kidney problems before prescribing Lamisil. Take special care with Lamisil and tell your doctor straight away:

   • If you experience nausea that persists over time with no known cause, decreased appetite, tiredness,

     Vomiting, abdominal pain, yellowing of the skin, mucous membranes and eyes, dark urine and light stools because they are signs of liver problems. Your doctor will assess your condition and decide whether treatment with Lamisil should be stopped

   • if there are skin reactions (rash) that get worse and worse. The doctor will evaluate his

     Condition and will decide whether treatment with Lamisil should be stopped

   • if you notice a change in the properties of the blood that can be detected by a blood test (e.g. reduction in white blood cells, platelets and red blood cells). Your doctor will assess your condition and decide whether to change the dose or stop treatment with Lamisil
   • if you are using other medicines (see section 'Other medicines and Lamisil').

     Your doctor will have your liver function checked regularly during treatment with Lamisil.

     Lamisil should not be given to children under 2 years of age.

     Other drugs and Lamisil

     Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are using, have recently used, or could use other medicines.

     Take special care with Lamisil with the following medicines:

   • Cimetidine (used to treat stomach ulcers and duodenum)
   • Fluconazole and ketoconazole (used to treat fungal infections)
   • Amiodarone (used to treat irregular heartbeat)
   • Rifampicin (antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections)
   • Antidepressants (used to treat depression)
   • Beta blockers (used to treat high blood pressure)
   • selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors
   • Antiarrhythmics (used to treat irregular heartbeat)
   • Monoamine oxidase inhibitor B.
   • Desipramine (used to treat depression)
   • Dextromethorphan (used to treat cough)
   • Caffeine (when placed in a vein)
   • Ciclosporin (to prevent rejection during transplants)

     Lamisil tablets are irrelevant:

   • Terfenadine (used to treat allergies)
   • Triazolam (to promote sleep and reduce anxiety)
   • Tolbutamide (used to treat diabetes)
   • oral contraceptives.

     Lamisil with food and drink

     You can take Lamisil on an empty stomach or after meals.

     pregnancy and breast feeding period

     If you are pregnant, breast-feeding, planning to become pregnant, or plan to breast-feed, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.

     pregnancy

     If you are pregnant, the medicine will only be prescribed for you in emergencies and under the direct supervision of your doctor.

     lactation

     Do not take Lamisil while breastfeeding, as terbinafine can be excreted in breast milk.

     Drive and use machines

     Lamisil can cause dizziness if you avoid driving vehicles and using machines.

3. How to take Lamisil

   Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you. If you are not sure, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

   The duration of treatment depends on the type and severity of the disease. Your doctor will tell you how long to take Lamisil.

   Take the tablets orally with water, on an empty stomach, or after meals. Take the tablets at about the same time each day.

   The tablets are divisible to allow children to be administered based on their body weight.

   Use in adults

   The recommended dose is 1 250 mg tablet once a day.

   Use in children over 20 kg

   250 mg tablets do not allow treatment of children weighing less than 20 kg. The recommended doses are listed in the table below.

   Treatment of skin infections

   Recommended duration of treatment

   • Tinea pedis (infection between the fingers on the plant

     Foot and / or moccasin type): 2 - 6 weeks

   • Tinea corporis, tinea cruris: 2-4 weeks
   • Skin candidiasis: 2-4 weeks

   The complete disappearance of the signs and symptoms of the disease can occur several weeks after the cure from the yeast infection.

   Treatment of scalp infections

   Treatment of tinea capitis Take Lamisil for 2-4 weeks.

   Treatment of nail infections by fungi

   The duration of treatment for most patients is between 6 and 12 weeks:

   • Hand nail infection: 6 weeks
   • Toenail infection: 12 weeks

     Some patients with reduced nail growth may need longer therapy. The complete disappearance of the signs and symptoms of the infection takes several months after the end of treatment, that is, until a new nail has grown.

     Use in the elderly

     If you are an older person, always ask your doctor who is looking for liver or kidney problems before prescribing Lamisil

     Use in people with impaired liver function

     If you are a person with liver problems, you should not take Lamisil (see section "Do not take Lamisil").

     Use in people with impaired kidney function

     Lamisil is not recommended for people with kidney problems.

     If you take more Lamisil than you should

     If you accidentally take a Lamisil overdose, tell your doctor immediately or go to the nearest hospital.

     The following side effects have been reported after taking an overdose of Lamisil (up to 5 g):

   • a headache
   • nausea
   • Abdominal pain
   • Dizziness.

     If you overdose, your doctor will treat your condition based on your symptoms.

     If you forget to take Lamisil

     Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose.

     If you stop taking Lamisil

     If you have any further questions on the use of this medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

   Like all medications, this medication can cause side effects, although not everyone gets them.

   Very common side effects (may affect more than 1 in 10 people)

   • decreased appetite
   • a headache
   • Feeling of abdominal bloating
   • Difficulty with digestion
   • nausea
   • pain in the stomach
   • diarrhea
   • Rash
   • Hives
   • Joint and muscle pain

     Common side effects (may affect up to 1 in 10 people)

   • depression
   • Decrease or loss of taste
   • dizziness
   • Visual impairment
   • restricted view
   • fatigue

     Uncommon side effects (may affect up to 1 in 100 people)

   • Reduction of red blood cells in the blood (anemia)
   • anxiety
   • Tingling and decreased sensitivity to a stimulus
   • Whistling and ringing in the ears
   • Skin reactions from sunlight
   • fever
   • Weight loss due to reduced taste

     Rare side effects (may affect up to 1 in 1,000 people)

   • Liver failure
   • Inflammation of the liver (hepatitis)
   • Yellowing of the skin, mucous membranes and eyes (jaundice)
   • Bile stagnation (cholestasis)
   • increased liver enzymes

     Very rare side effects (may affect up to 1 in 10,000 people)

   • Neutropenia (decrease in the number of neutrophils in the blood)
   • Agranulocytosis (decrease in the number of granulocytes in the blood)
   • Thrombocytopenia (decrease in the number of platelets in the blood)
   • Pancytopenia (reduction in the number of all cellular elements in the blood)
   • severe allergic reactions after the first dose (anaphylactoid reactions) and angioedema (swelling of the face, lips, mouth, tongue or throat, which can cause difficulty in breathing and difficulty swallowing)
   • cutaneous and systemic lupus erythematosus, an autoimmune disease
   • Allergic reactions of various types, including serious ones, characterized by reddening, itching, skin loss and the appearance of vesicles (Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis, acute generalized rashes acute, erythema multiforme, toxic rash, exfoliative dermatitis and dermatitis bullosa)
   • Rashes similar to those of psoriasis or worsening of psoriasis
   • Hair loss

     Unknown side effects (frequency cannot be estimated from the available data)

   • severe allergic reactions that can be fatal (anaphylactic reactions and reactions similar to serum sickness)
   • Decrease or even permanent loss of the ability to smell
   • Hearing loss
   • Deafness
   • Inflammation of the blood vessels
   • Inflammation of the pancreas
   • Drug rash with a high number of eosinophils in the blood and symptoms in the body
   • Skin disorders characterized by a pronounced sensitivity to sunlight (photodermatosis)
   • Reactions to sunlight and skin rash after exposure to light
   • severe muscle damage related to the destruction of muscle tissue
   • flu-like syndrome
   • Increase in the blood of an enzyme called creatinine phosphokinase

     By reporting side effects you can provide more information on the safety of this medicine.

5. How to store Lamisil

   Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.

   Keep the blister in the outer packaging to protect the medicine from light

   Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the package after the "expiry date". The expiry date refers to the last day of this month.

   Do not throw medication into wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how you can get rid of medicines you no longer use. This helps protect the environment.

6. Contents of the pack and other information What Lamisil contains
   • The active substance is terbinafine hydrochloride. Each tablet contains 281,250 mg terbinafine hydrochloride, equivalent to 250 mg terbinafine base.
   • The other ingredients are magnesium stearate, colloidal anhydrous silica, hypromellose,

Sodium carboxymethyl starch A, microcrystalline cellulose.

Description of the appearance of Lamisil and the contents of the pack

Each pack of Lamisil 250 mg tablets contains 8 or 14 250 mg tablets for oral use.
