1. What is Strattera and what is it used for? What is it used for?

   Strattera contains atomoxetine and is used to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). It is used

   • in children over 6 years
   • among young people
   • in adults

   Strattera increases the level of norepinephrine in the brain. 2. What you need to know before taking Strattera Do NOT take Strattera if:

You are allergic to atomoxetine or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in Section 6);

have taken a drug known as monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI), such as phenelzine, in the past two weeks. A MAOI medicine is sometimes used to treat depression and other mental disorders. Serious or life-threatening side effects may occur if you take Strattera with a MAOI medicine. have an eye disorder called angular closure glaucoma (increased pressure in the eye);

The doctor will measure it

• Your blood pressure and heart rate (pulse) before and while taking Strattera;

Other drugs and strattera

Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken, or may be taking, other medicines, including those without a prescription. Do not take Strattera with MAOIs (monoamine oxidase inhibitors) used for depression. See section 2 "Do not take Strattera".

• Medicines that increase blood pressure or are used to control blood pressure;

1. How to take strattera

• Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. If you are not sure, contact your doctor or pharmacist. It is usually taken once or twice a day (the first dose in the morning and the second in the late afternoon or early evening).
• Children should not take this medicine without the help of an adult.
• If you take Strattera once a day and you experience drowsiness and nausea, your doctor may change your medication to twice a day.
• This medicine can be taken with or without food.

Strattera oral solution is available in a bottle. How much to take

If you are a child or a teenager (6 years or older)

Your doctor will tell you the dose of Strattera you should be taking and calculate the dose based on your body weight. You usually start taking a lower dose before increasing the dose of Strattera that you need to take based on your body weight.

If you take more strattera than you should

If you forget to take Strattera

IMPORTANT

Do NOT let your child take the medicine without their help.

Do NOT use the medicine if it has expired. (Check the expiry date on the label.)

Do NOT use the medicine 45 days after opening the bottle for the first time. See the paragraph

Disposal to know what to do with the medicine you are not using.

DO NOT wash the oral syringe with soap or detergent. DO NOT put the syringe in the dishwasher. In this case the syringe may not work properly. For cleaning instructions, see steps N through P.

Do not mix STRATTERA oral solution with food or water as this may change the taste or prevent the entire dose from being taken.

STRATTERA causes eye irritation. Avoid eye contact. If the medicine gets into your eyes, immediately rinse your eyes with water and contact a doctor. Wash your hands and surfaces that may have come in contact with the medicine as soon as possible.

ITEM 1 FIRST PREPARATION OF THE BOTTLE

Push the adapter fully into the bottle opening shortly before first use. Do not insert the syringe into the adapter until the adapter is fully inserted into the bottle.

STEP 3 PREPARE THE DOSAGE

Push the cap down by turning it counterclockwise. Remove the cap from the bottle.

Push the plunger all the way to the end of the syringe.

Make sure the end of the syringe is fully in the adapter.

Turn the bottle and syringe over.

Hold the bottle and syringe with one hand. Use your other hand to pull the plunger down to get the right amount of medicine into the syringe.

Check that the syringe contains the correct dose.

Turn the bottle upright and place it on a flat surface.

Check for air in the syringe. If so, put the medicine back in the bottle and repeat steps D through H. The presence of air can result in an incorrect dosage.

Take the syringe out of the bottle.

DO NOT touch the plunger.

STEP 4 MANAGE THE MEDICAL PRODUCT

Insert the end of the syringe into the corner of the child's mouth. Tell the child not to bite the syringe.

Push the plunger down until ALL medication is in the baby's mouth.

Do NOT spray the medicine into your throat. Make sure the child swallows all medication.

If the child's dose is MORE than 10 ml, repeat steps D through K to give the child the next part of the dose. Use the same syringe. See the dosage table on the other side of this leaflet.

Make sure you use the exact dose your child's doctor has prescribed.

Screw the cap securely onto the bottle.

DO NOT remove the adapter. The cap fits on it.

Fill a cup with clean water.

DO NOT wash the oral syringe with soap or detergent.

DO NOT remove the plunger from the oral syringe. Insert the end of the syringe into the water and pull the plunger until the syringe is filled with water.

Push the plunger down and spray the water into the cup or sink.

Shake off excess water from the syringe. Dry the syringe with a tissue.

Wash your child's hands with soap and water.

DO NOT touch your eyes after handling STRATTERA. STRATTERA can irritate your eyes.

A. Rinse your eyes with water immediately and contact a doctor. Wash your hands and surfaces that may have come in contact with the medicine as soon as possible.

Q. How do I travel with this medicine?

A. Make sure you have enough STRATTERA for the entire trip. Store the medicine in a safe place upright at room temperature.

Q. Can I mix STRATTERA with food or water before giving it to the child?

A. STRATTERA oral solution should not be mixed with food and water. This could change the taste of the oral Strattera solution or prevent you from taking the full dose. You can give the child a glass of water to drink after taking the full dose of the medicine.
