Strattera contains atomoxetine and is used to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). It is used

        • in children over 6 years
        • among young people
        • in adults

It is used only as part of a general treatment for the disease, which also requires interventions that do not use drugs, such as: B. a psychological and behavioral support therapy.

It should not be used to treat ADHD in children under 6 years of age because it is not known whether this drug works or is safe for these people.

Strattera is used in adults to treat ADHD when the symptoms are very annoying and affect work or social life and when they had the symptoms of the disease as a child.

        How it works

Strattera increases the level of norepinephrine in the brain. Noradrenaline is a naturally manufactured chemical that increases alertness and decreases impulsivity and hyperactivity in patients with ADHD. This medicine has been prescribed to help control ADHD symptoms. This medicine is not a stimulant and is therefore not addictive.

From the start of treatment with this medicine, it may take a few weeks for your symptoms to improve completely.
